DASUN SHANAKA, You are beauty.....

       This month is a very important month for  the Sri Lankan cricket fans as the Australian cricket team is currently facing a tournament with the Sri Lankan cricket team. This tournament consists of Three T20 matches,  Five ODI matches, and two Test matches.

The last 11th of Saturday, the T20 series was  ended and Australia won that series by one    to  two. The Australian team got off to a  good start by winning the first two matches.  The third match was played on Last 11th  Thursday in the pallekale international  cricket stadium and that day was a historical  day for Sri Lankans.

The toss was won by Australian caption Aaron Finch same as the 1st two matches and who decided to bat 1st. With that decision, Sri Lanka got the opportunity to bowl for the first time.When it considers the Sri Lankan squad there was only one change, Praveen Jayawickrama came in to the squad and Nuwan Thushara was removed.

Sri Lankan captain Dasun shanaka started the match by using two fast bowlers, Chamika Karunarathne and Dushmantha Chameera. But the start of the match did not much favorable for the Sri Lankan team and Aaron finch and David wanner scored 40 marks without any wickets.
Captain Aaron finch tacked fast 30 runs by using just 19 balls and his wicket was taken by maheesh theekshana as the 1st wicket. Then Sri Lankans took another 3 wickets for just 35 runs in the second quarter of the match.  Glenn Maxwell's wicket is taken by Wanidu Hasaranga.  Steve Smith and Marcus Stoinis, who came later lifted the Australian inning to a good situation. Finally, Australians scored 176 runs for 5 wickets at the end of the 20 over. Steve Smith and stoinis scored 37 and 38 runs respectively. Maheesh Theekshana took very important two wickets. Wanidu Hasaranga and Praveen took one wicket each.
Russel Arnold who is Sri Lankan former cricketer and international commentator said, the winning mark of the match is 170 after the checking pitch at the beginning of the match. However, Sri Lanka received a huge target of 177 marks to win the match.

 

The Sri Lankan inning was started by Danushka Gunathilaka and Pathum Nissanka.  Danushka's wicket was taken by josh Hazelwood for just 15 runs. Then Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka who come later elevated the Sri Lankan inning into good position. When Asalanka was out, the Sri Lankan scoreboard appeared as 67-1. After that Nissanka and Banuka Rajapakshe scored another 30 marks in very immediately. Wickets of Pathum Nissanka and Banuka Rajapakshe were taken by Stoinis and Agar respectively. Pathum, Asalanka and Banuka ware scored 27, 26 and 17 respectively. The scoreboard appeared as 96- 3. At that moment the Sri Lankan Fans were watching the match with high hopes of victory

After that point, Australians did not give any chance to raise their heads for the Sri Lankan players. Australian Bowlers applied high pressure on Sri Lankan players. Hazelwood and Jhye Richardson take another two wickets for 10 runs. When it comes to the end of the 17th over Sri Lankan scoreboard appeared very poor level.

 At that time Sri Lanka needed another 58 runs in 18 balls. That target is a very hard target to score. When it come to the 18th over Sri Lankan Captain Dasun Shanaka had scored only 6 runs off 12 balls.  The Sri Lankan team was in a very difficult position to win. The commentators believed that the Australian team would definitely win.  Even the audience did not seem to trust him, because of the score he was getting at the time. 

Hazelwood came in to bowl the 18th over. When we consider Hazelwood, he is the second-best bowler in the ICC T20 rankings. He was one of the best bowlers of the last IPL 2022.
At once Dasun's bat was activated against hazelwood as no one expected. Caption Dasun got 21 runs for his over, which included two sixes and two fours. The 19th over was bowled by Jhye Richardson and Dasun and Chamika runs 18 marks for that over. That consists of one six and two fours.
By the end of the over, Sri Lanka needed 19 runs off six balls to win.  Although it was a very difficult target to achieve, the Sri Lankan cricket fans watched the match with great anticipation.

Kane Richardson had the opportunity to bowl the final over The first two balls put two wide balls so he showed that he was playing with a bit of pressure. Like the previous bowlers, he was hit hard by Dasun's bat. Dasun scored 19 runs in the final over with two fours and a six and Sri Lanka won the match. 
That victory came to Sri Lanka, breaking many records. He was able to inherit an unexpected victory for Sri Lanka.He was able to bring a smile to the faces of the fans who were saddened by the defeats. He's really great. He is a real leader. Dasun shanaka, you are beauty.
